1. Introduction

In order to use many of the services available on ABHost.us and the Internet, such as Netscape, you have to set up your computer to access the internet via a dial-up phone line. This document will walk you through the steps required to get your computer successfully connected to the internet. These instructions assume that you only want to access the Internet via ABHost.us and that you are not connected to some other type of local area network (LAN). In other words, you use a stand-alone machine at home or office. While you can set up your computer to access multiple types of network providers, we will only address dialup connectivity to ABHost.us.

2. Hardware Requirements

Here at ABHost.us we have 56K modems.

3. Software Requirements

Windows 2000 comes with all the networking software you need to get access to ABHost.us. It comes with a Telnet and FTP client, both located in the windows directory. Once you have established a connection to ABHost.us, you can then easily transfer (FTP) applications such as Netscape to your machine.
